Den springande punkten är den punkt på ett embryo (ursprungligen om den lilla blodfläck i äggvitan hos ett befruktat ägg av en fågel) som utvecklar av hjärtats slag betingade sprittande rörelser och därmed utgör det första tecknet på liv. Aristoteles var den förste som kallade fenomenet punctum saliens. Detta användes i Tyskland under beteckningen der springende Punkt. Verbet springen betyder hoppa, skutta, röra sig upp och ner. Sen blev uttrycket hämtat till Sverige och man avstod från att översätta verbet springen med hoppa, vilket skulle har varit passande och mer närliggande. Nu är det alltså en springande punkt.
Löpning
Jag delar mina upplevelser längst vägen till att bli "Sveriges Snabbaste 50-åring". Den springande punkten för elitidrott är nämligen vad som förbättrar prestationerna.
